Ballard and Crown Hill logged nearly 900 responses to the Neighborhood Plan Status Update Survey conducted by the Seattle Planning Commission. Thanks to you all, we had more than double the responses of any other neighborhood.

The Crown Hill Business Association is hosting a Summer Social for the businesses and residents of Crown Hill to get to know each other, and enjoy some of the fine summer weather (while it lasts). This is a free event, so come on out, enjoy free pizza and beverages, and meet some of the businesses in the neighborhood.
The social will be in the parking lot by the Edward Jones office, A Perfect Fit, and Juliano’s Pizza (formerly Pizza Time). This is on the East side of 15th Ave NW, and the parking lot can be accessed by the driveway just South of Edward Jones at 8327 15th Ave NW.

Family friendly walk to look at trees with one of Seattle’s foremost tree and plant experts to guide us through the treasures growing in our neighborhood.
The Crown Hill Neighborhood Association is embarking on a special project to catalog and recognize the environmental, historical, and cultural significance of our neighborhood’s trees. As neighbors you can help by sharing your stories about your favorite trees in Crown Hill, whether they are trees you pass by on the street or ones in your own yard. Take a moment to ask your neighbors about their favorite trees too, especially those who have lived in CH a long time or may not have access to the internet!
At the end of the project, the urban tree expert helping with the project will lead a guided tour of our ‘special’ Crown Hill trees. A self-guided tour and the stories we collect will be available for everyone to enjoy on the Crown Hill Neighbors Website. The City is very supportive of this idea, and they want to use our project as a pilot for the rest of Seattle’s neighborhoods. You are welcome to provide information on more than one tree or group of trees. Please note that the trees in Carkeek Park are outside the area for this project.
Crown Hill had a healthy number of block parties on Tuesday August 4th this year. Lots of fun had by all. We were aware of these and apparently there must have been more:
