2011 Crown Hill Business Directory

In your mailbox in the last few days was an issue of a newspaper The Journal. Included inside the issue was the invaluable 2011 Crown Hill Business Directory. The directory is published by the Crown Hill Business Association, and includes listings for nearly all Crown Hill Businesses.

Crown Hill Business Directory 2011

Didn’t get yours? Or maybe it went straight to the recycle bin? No worries, there are two options to get your very own: 1) get it electronically from: crownhillbusiness.org; or 2) drop by Cassandra Peterson’s office at 8327 15th Ave NW during business hours.

These businesses are part of our local community. Please support our local businesses who invest in the neighborhood.

The striking cover art was created by Crown Hill’s own Cynthia Burrell who was inspired by the sculptures at Home and Garden Art:

Crown Hill Center Volunteers Needed

Summary: The Crown Hill Center needs as many people as possible between now and April 11 at noon to pledge volunteer hours over the next year.  This is for funds matching  towards replacing the west wing roof.  Even an hour is a huge help because in part of the scoring for this grant is the number of volunteers we engage.   Please email your name, an email address, number of hours pledged for the next year, and any particular task with which you’d like to help to Catherine.Weatbrook@gmail.com

Besides pledging hours, please forward this to your groups and members and friends.   Thank you for your pledges and helping quickly spread the word!

Earth Day Volunteers Needed for Carkeek Park, 2011

Looks like we’ve all been invited to Carkeek Park’s Earth Day cleanup and celebration. I went last year and it was a lot of fun:

Councilmember Mike O’Brien, Seattle Public Utilities & Neighborhoods Chair, will help kick off the event.

Where: Meet at the Carkeek Environmental Learning Center at 950 NW Carkeek Park Road.

When: Saturday, April 16, 8:30 am – noon

Registration Required: 206-363-4116

Help us beat last year’s accomplishments!

  • 90 participants
  • 60 storm drains stenciled
  • 903 lbs of trash collected, 314 lbs of recycling collected

Best regards,

Michael May
